Jump into July Challenge | 2020 Part II

Hey, there!

Part I of 2020 may not have gone the way you planned, but there is certainly time to turn things around for Part II!

If the past few months were filled with more stress eating and less movement than you would have liked, do not fret. Take a deep breath. Give yourself some grace. Now is the time to refocus on your goals for the second half of this year.

In an effort to inspire, excite and encourage you to create or reinstate healthy habits that propel you toward your goals, I’ve developed the Jump into July Challenge!

This hybrid of a competition + group coaching will motivate you to reach for those goals as the second half of the year kicks off.

I put together a little Q & A to help answer any questions you may have about the Challenge. If you need any additional info, please feel free to contact me.

When is the Challenge?

It begins the Monday following July 4th weekend and runs for 4 weeks.

Official dates are Monday, 7/6 – Sunday, 8/2.

What if I’m out of town for some of those dates? Can I still participate?

Of course! While traveling can make it more difficult to stay focused on your nutrition, it is often a part of life.

Things will always come up to distract you from “staying on course,” but you can participate while home or away.

You’ll likely even find that participating helps you make better, more intentional choices. The key is to achieve balance!

Who can participate in the Jump into July Challenge?

The Challenge is open to you if you’re a female that would like to dial in your nutrition, focus on a positive mindset and receive daily motivation to be the best version of yourself.

You also need a Facebook account because the Challenge will be conducted in a private FB group.

Do I need to live local to jump in?

Nope! I work with clients from all over. Since coaching and this Challenge are conducted completely online, you are welcome to join no matter where you live!

Can past clients participate?

Absolutely! Past clients are welcome and encouraged to join!

The daily challenges will be engaging and motivating to everyone who participates.

The winners of the prior two Challenges were past clients!

Do I need to follow IIFYM to participate?

No, you do not. You can still get a lot out of the Challenge without actually counting your macros. The goal is for participants to create or reinstate healthy lifestyle habits in regards to nutrition, exercise, mindset and motivation!

Do I need to track my food?

You do not. However, tracking your food is one way to earn points. Every day there will be a post for you to upload a screenshot of your daily macros. If you are logging your food (while counting macros or not), you can easily participate. Each day that you post your screenshot will earn you 1 point.

You mentioned points. How else do I earn points?

There will be daily challenges to earn points. Before we begin, you will receive a calendar briefly outlining each challenge. Every morning the challenge will be posted and explained thoroughly, including the amount of points it is worth. You are responsible for keeping track of your points on the calendar provided. I will verify points of the top placed entrants at the end of the challenge to determine the winners.

One example of a way to earn points is by completing a Chiseler, which will be posted each Wednesday. These mini-workouts can be completed at home. They will take somewhere between 5-15 minutes, only require bodyweight and help get your heart rate up!

Other examples of ways to collect points are through food prepping, recipe sharing and Progress Report submitting. There will also be surprise BONUS challenges!

Are points awarded for losing weight/inches?

Points are not awarded for losing pounds or inches – those are just a bonus! Everyone is on an even playing field – newbies, veterans and non-macro counters.

Do the points translate into prizes?

Yes! You are responsible for keeping track of your points on the calendar provided. I will verify points of the top placed entrants at the end of the challenge to determine the winners and they will earn a cash prize!

3rd place will earn $75

2nd place will earn $125

1st place will earn $175

If there is a tie at the end, there will be a tiebreaker.  Prizes will be paid out via PayPal or Venmo – winner’s choice.

Do I need anything to participate?

You will need to have a FB account to participate in the Challenge.

If you plan to follow IIFYM, you will want to download the app My Fitness Pal to track your food.

I highly encourage using a scale to weigh your food as well. Portion sizes can be easily underestimated and we are often eating more than we think. This is my favorite kitchen scale of the three I’ve had in the past. It measures in grams, ounces, pounds, pounds + ounces and mL. I love that it shuts off if I forget to turn it off after a few minutes to save the battery. Plus, it has 5 year warranty if you need it. Although, mine has worked perfectly for the past 2 years. They just released a white version if that works better with your kitchen aesthetic.

It’s not necessary, but having a soft tape measure is very helpful for taking your measurements each week. You can grab one for Target or order this cute pink one for $3 from Amazon.

If you are completely new to macro counting, I highly recommend you check out this blog post about the basics!

Do you provide a meal plan?

No, I do not. I don’t believe in meal plans for 2 main reasons.

First, macros can vary greatly from person to person, so a plan that fits my macros would likely not fit yours.

Second, everyone has different tastes and preferences when it comes to food. Staples that I love and include in my diet daily may not be your cup of tea. I encourage a balanced way of eating that fits YOUR needs!

I will post my weekly dinner menu to provide inspiration for you & your family.

In addition, there will be ways to earn points by sharing recipes in the group, so you will have access to plenty of healthy meal options!

Will you be reviewing my MFP log?

I will not review your actual log, but I will see those daily screenshots if you choose to post them (for points!)

You’re also welcome and encouraged to “friend” other participants in MFP, which will give them access to your food dairy – more accountability!

Sounds great! What is the cost of the Challenge?
