The Fall Challenge

The spring challenge was so much fun!
Y’all have been asking for another one.
I’m excited to announce it’s finally here!
Keep reading to find out all the deets.

Summer is over and September is here. The weekends at the beach, pool days, family trips and BBQs are great for memory making, but not always the best when it comes to our waistline. Whether you stuck to the script or veered way off course, now is a great time to dial in your nutrition.

Before you know it, Halloween will be here and candy will be everywhere. Thanksgiving will follow quickly after. That single day is a heavy hitter and often causes a ripple effect just in time for the best time of the year. December is filled with cookies, cocktails and Christmas cheer. All this to say that focusing on establishing healthy habits now will set you up for success when navigating the holiday season. Cue — The CBC Fall Challenge!

The goal for this Challenge is to inspire, excite and encourage you to create or reinstate healthy habits that will propel you toward your goals just in time for the hectic holiday season!

Below is a little Q & A to help answer any questions you may have for me. If you need any additional info, please feel free to email me – chiseledbychels@gmail.com.

Who can participate in the Fall Challenge?

The Challenge is open to you if you’re a female that would like to dial in your nutrition, focus on a positive mindset and receive daily motivation to be the best version of yourself. You also need a Facebook account because the Challenge will be conducted in a private FB group.

Is it open to past clients?

Absolutely! Past clients are welcome and encouraged to join. If you participated in the Countdown to Summer Challenge, you will be familiar with the format and some of the challenges, but there will be new daily challenges to engage and motivate everyone!

What if I’m completely new to macro counting?

That is totally fine! I will be covering the basics on macro counting — Macros 101, if you will — so you’ll learn all the fundamentals. Plus, there will be veteran macro counters in the group, ready and willing to help with any questions! The community is amazing and supports one another. You will fit right in!

When is the Challenge?

It begins on the second Monday of October and runs for 6 weeks.

Official dates are 10/14 – 11/24.

What if I’m out of town for some of those dates? Can I still participate?

Of course! While traveling can make it more difficult to stay focused on your nutrition, it is often a part of life. Things will always come up to distract you from “staying on course,” but you can participate while home or away. The key is to achieve balance!

Do I need to follow IIFYM to participate?

No, you do not. You can still get a lot out of the Challenge without actually counting your macros. The goal is for participants to create or reinstate healthy lifestyle habits in regards to nutrition, exercise, mindset and motivation!

Do I need to track my food?

You do not. However, tracking your food is one way to earn points. Each day there will be a post for you to upload a screenshot of your daily macros. If you are logging your food (while counting macros or not), you can easily participate. Every day that you post your screenshot will earn you 1 point.

You mentioned points. How do I earn points?

There will be daily challenges to earn points. Before we begin, you will receive a Challenge Calendar, which will layout the 6 weeks of daily challenges.

For example, there will be “Chiselers” each Wednesday, which will be a brief workout you can complete at home, the gym, a park, etc… They will take somewhere between 5-15 minutes, only require bodyweight and help get your heart rate up! Completing a Chiseler will earn you points.

Other examples of ways to collect points are through food prepping, sharing recipes, submitting a weekly Progress Report, as well as loads of other ways.  There will also be surprise BONUS challenges!

Are points awarded for losing weight/inches?

Points are not awarded for losing pounds or inches — those are just a bonus! Everyone is on an even playing field — newbies, veterans and non-macro counters.

Do the points translate into prizes?

Yes! The participants with the top three amounts of points will earn a cash prize!

3rd place will win $75

2nd place will win $125

1st place will win $200

If there is a tie at the end, there will be a tiebreaker.  Prize money will be paid out via PayPal or Venmo — winner’s choice.

There will also be prizes raffled off after the Challenge. Every participant that submits their completed Points Calendar will be entered to win.

Do I need anything to participate?

You will need an active FB account to participate in the Challenge.

If you plan to follow IIFYM, you will want to download the app My Fitness Pal to track your food.

I highly encourage using a scale to weigh your food as well. Portion sizes can be easily underestimated and we are often eating more than we think.

Do you provide a meal plan?

No, I do not. I don’t believe in meal plans for 2 main reasons. First, everyone’s macros are different, so a plan that fits my macros would likely not fit yours. Second, everyone‘s tastes and preferences are different. Foods that I love may not be your favorite. I encourage a balanced way of eating that fits YOUR needs!

I will post my weekly dinner menu with links to give you inspiration for you & your family. In addition, there will be ways to earn points by sharing recipes in the group, so you will have access to many healthy meal options!

Will you be reviewing my MFP log?

I will not review your actual log, but I will see those daily screenshots if you choose to post them (for points!) You’re also welcome and encouraged to “friend” other participants in MFP, which will give them access to your food dairy — more accountability & meal ideas!

Sounds great! What is the cost?

CBC Fall Challenge [6 weeks] + Custom Macro Breakdown — $175

  1. Hi Chelsea,

I’m interested in joining the fall challenge, but am anxious to get started with macros before 10/14. Can you help to get me started before then?

    Thanks,

  2. Hi Chelsea

I am Jessica Benninghoff’s Mom. She has told me so much about you. I am a strict vegetarian and I do not eat seafood. I am 65 years old (well honestly soon to be 66) and in reasonably good health. I exercise on average 5 days/wk (sometimes 6). I am at a complete standstill with my current weight (128). My MD has suggested an ideal weight of 120. To be honest I weighed 113 lbs in previous years and felt 100% true to whom I was intended to be. I’m very interested in this (Jessica said it would help me tremendously) but I don’t know all that’s involved or the advantages to counting macros. Definitely interested though. Mobile: 703-328-5657
