Announcing the First Countdown to Summer Challenge

It is officially Spring! Although the temps may not feel like it yet, summer will be here before we know it! With the warm weather comes less clothing. We’ll be saying goodbye to those sweaters and hello to swimsuits!

Right around now is when I hear women start saying they need to “get summer-ready,” which can mean different things to different people. Ultimately, I know we all like to feel comfortable in our skin at those summer BBQs, days on the beach and afternoons at the pool. Keeping that goal in mind, I’m so excited to launch the first Chiseled by Chelsea’s COUNTDOWN TO SUMMER CHALLENGE!

I’ve been developing this challenge over the past several months. It has SO many great things packed into it and I cannot wait to share it with you!

I put together a little Q & A to help answer any questions you may have for me. If you need any additional info, please feel free to email me – chiseledbychels@gmail.com.

My goal is for this Challenge to inspire, excite and encourage you to create or reinstate healthy habits that will propel you toward your goals, just in time for summer!

When is the Challenge?

It begins the Monday following Easter and runs for 4 weeks. Official dates are 4/22 – 5/19.

What if I’m out of town for some of those dates? Can I still participate?

Of course! While traveling can make it more difficult to stay focused on your nutrition, it is often a part of life. Things will always come up to distract you from “staying on course,” but you can participate while home or away. The key is to achieve balance!

Who can participate in the Countdown to Summer Challenge?

The Challenge is open to you if you’re a female that would like to dial in your nutrition, focus on a positive mindset and receive daily motivation to be the best version of yourself. You also need a Facebook account because the Challenge will be conducted in a FB group.

Can past clients participate?

Absolutely! Past clients are welcome and encouraged to join! Although some of the macro counting information may not be new to you, the daily challenges will be engaging and motivating to everyone.

Do I need to follow IIFYM to participate?

No, you do not. You can still get a lot out of the Challenge without actually counting your macros. The goal is for participants to create or reinstate healthy lifestyle habits in regards to nutrition, exercise, mindset and motivation!

Do I need to track my food?

You do not. However, tracking your food is one way to earn points. Each day there will be a post for you to upload a screenshot of your daily macros. If you are logging your food (while counting macros or not), you can easily participate. Every day that you post your screenshot will earn you 1 point.

You mentioned points. How do I earn points?

There will be daily challenges to earn points. Before we begin, you will receive a list of challenges you can expect as well as a point tracker sheet.

For example, there will be “Chiselers” each Wednesday, which will be a brief workout you can complete at home, the gym, a park, etc… They will take somewhere between 5-15 minutes, only require bodyweight and help get your heart rate up! Completing a Chiseler will earn you points. Involving a family member or friend will earn you more points.

Other examples of ways to collect points are through food prepping, sharing recipes, submitting a weekly Progress Report, as well as loads of other ways.  There will also be surprise BONUS challenges!

Are points awarded for losing weight/inches?

Points are not awarded for losing pounds or inches – those are just a bonus! Everyone is on an even playing field – newbies, veterans and non-macro counters.

Do the points translate into prizes?

Yes! The participants with the top three amounts of points will earn a cash prize!

  • 3rd place will earn $50.
  • 2nd place will earn $100.
  • 1st place will earn $150!

If there is a tie at the end, there will be a tiebreaker.  Prizes will be paid out via PayPal or Venmo – winner’s choice.

Do I need anything to participate?

You will need to have a FB account to participate in the Challenge. If you plan to follow IIFYM, you will want to download the app My Fitness Pal to track your food. I highly encourage using a scale to weigh your food as well. Portion sizes can be easily underestimated and we are often eating more than we think.

Do you provide a meal plan?

No, I do not. I don’t believe in meal plans for 2 main reasons. First, everyone’s macros are different, so a plan that fits my macros would likely not fit yours. Second, everyone‘s taste and preferences are different. Foods that I love may not be your favorite. I encourage a balanced way of eating that fits YOUR needs!

I will be sharing meal ideas, including high protein breakfast options. I also will post my weekly dinner menu to give you inspiration for you & your family. In addition, there will be ways to earn points by sharing recipes in the group, so you will have access to plenty of healthy meal options!

Will you be reviewing my MFP log?

I will not review your actual log, but I will see those daily screenshots if you choose to post them (for points!) You’re also welcome and encouraged to “friend” other participants in MFP, which will give them access to your food dairy – more accountability!

Sounds great! What is the cost of the Challenge?

There are two options to participate – with or without a Custom Macro Breakdown.

If you do not need your macros calculated (you already have macros or you don’t plan to use them), the cost of the Challenge is only $100.

If you would like your macros calculated, the cost is $130.

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes! If you sign up with a friend, you’ll both save $10!

When is the deadline to sign up?

The deadline to join the Challenge is Friday, 4/12 at midnight.

If you sign up by Sunday, 3/24 at midnight, you will earn 10 BONUS points!

If you sign up by Sunday, 3/31 at midnight, you will earn 5 BONUS points!
