Well, let’s talk about your goals. Do you have any specific physique goals? Are you trying to get ready for an upcoming event, like a wedding, reunion, vacation or photoshoot? Or maybe you just want to improve your body composition – lean out, reduce body fat, increase definition, etc…

If you are, AWESOME job! It’s not always easy to achieve our body goals. If you’re anything like me, you LOVE food & love to eat! Luckily, with If It Fits Your Macros (IIFYM), I can eat my favorite foods & see the results I want!

According to the statistics published by Psychology Today, 70% of women want to be thinner and 56% of women aged 25-46 are currently dieting. First of all, these statistics really sadden me. I would love for every woman to feel confident, secure & beautiful in her body.  Unfortunately, our mainstream media promotes “ideal” body images that greatly differ from the average woman. In turn, women often resort to dieting in the hopes of transforming their bodies to replicate the women they see on TV & in magazines.

The problem with diets is that they are temporary. If you follow any diet for a month or two, you may see the results you are looking for, but as soon as you go back to your old ways of eating, those results will disappear. I’ve seen many cases where women actually gain back MORE weight after ending a diet. They may have felt so deprived while dieting, that they binge on all the foods they weren’t allowed eat and in turn they cancel out all of their hard-earned results!

Maybe you fall in the group of women who aren’t currently meeting your body goals. You might have specific aspirations that you want to achieve for yourself and your body — possibly rocking a little black dress for an event, fitting into your favorite old pair of jeans, hitting your goal weight or simply feeling comfortable in your own skin. You may have tried different methods of dieting in the past with little to no success. Or you might not even know how to reach those goals. Either way, a macro coach could be the answer for you!

So, how can a macro coach help you meet your goals? Well, there are three main reasons I have found that people cannot and do not achieve their fitness goals. You personally may struggle with one or more of these areas. As your macro coach, I am here to help you by providing guidance, accountability & flexibility.

  1. GUIDANCE

A lack of guidance is a major struggle for many individuals looking to make changes in their nutrition. I often have women contact me with questions about IIFYM.

“How do I follow IIFYM?”

“What foods can and should I eat?”

“Can you show me how to track my food?”

One of my main objectives as a macro coach is to guide you toward reaching your goals by providing you with the necessary information, tools & tips. I want to set you up for long-term success.

If you’re not sure where to start or you feel like you’ve tried every diet plan out there and you’re still not seeing the results you want, a macro coach may be able to help you. I provide all my clients with the ideal macro breakdown for their specific lifestyle and we adjust as necessary to find the “sweet spot” for their body to burn fat. Although nutrition is not an exact science, macro coaches have a deep understanding of how to optimally fuel the body to help you achieve your goals.

  1. ACCOUNTABILITY

A lack of accountability is another struggle that I have found deters women from meeting their goals. It’s easier to blow off a workout or binge on ice cream when no one is holding you accountable. If you scheduled a gym date with a friend after work, aren’t you less likely to ditch your gym sesh than if you were going alone? Of course! That’s because knowing your friend is counting on you to be there keeps you accountable.

The same is true with nutrition. As a macro coach, I am here to hold my clients accountable. In addition to frequent check-ins, I review all of my clients’ nutrition logs to ensure they are tracking their food every day. I have found that most people work harder at achieving a goal when they know that someone else is counting on them and by their side during the process. Plus, I am always available for questions and support when needed.

  1. FLEXIBILITY

IIFYM is sometimes referred to as flexible dieting. I show all of my clients how they can achieve their goals without cutting out their favorite foods. We all have our non-negotiable foods in life. Coffee creamer is at the top of my list. I love starting my day with a warm cup of coffee. If anyone told me I could meet all my goals, but I had to give up my coffee creamer, I would not be interested! I have two small children that wake up early with a LOT of energy. I NEED my coffee with creamer. I love grabbing my favorite inspirational mug, pouring a cup of Joe and sweetening it with delicious creamer in order to prepare myself to take on the day!

If you have a food or beverage that you are not willing to cut out of your day or week, that’s okay! Maybe you love your morning Pop-tart or crave a cookie after dinner. The beautiful thing is, no matter what your “non-negotiable” item is, you can still use IIFYM to successfully meet your goals! Due to the extreme flexibility with IIFYM, I have found it is MUCH easier to reach your goals. Clients do not feel deprived because they can still eat the foods they love. Plus, it completely removes the guilt factor. I remember the days where I would eat something “bad” and then think, “Well the whole day is shot now. I may as well eat whatever I want…” With IIFYM, we don’t label foods as “bad” or “good”. Although I teach my clients to focus on whole foods with nutritious properties, any food can be included, WHILE meeting your goals.
